Summary: If you were capable of seeing the dead, would you raise a stink about it? Would you go incognito and make sure they don't cause trouble when no one's suspecting? Or would you do your best and make it up as you go? Try to aim for the last two. Odd Thomas did.

History: Odd Thomas (that is his real name) is a person who can see the dead, and chooses to be their friend most of the time. But now, his quiet Californian home is in peril. An army of demonic monsters known as the Bodachs are coming, and they're here to thrive on chaos and human souls. And what's worse, something or someone is conspiring to get Odd out of the picture by framing him for murder. On the fifteenth of the month, all could end in bloodshed.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The day of reckoning arrives, and the conspirator is revealed to be a disgraced police officer (but of course). The Bodachs were hoping to visit misfortune unto Odd, and although the villain is killed by explosives in the end, Odd loses his love to the Afterlife. He vows to continue helping the restless spirits until he feels worthy of joining her.

Powers/Abilities: Bodachs are attracted to potential violent scenarios, and can possess the living.

Weakness: None, though conventional means can exorcise them.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-The CGI...could be a bit better to be honest. But that doesn't change the fact that the Bodachs are some seriously messed up spirits. Looking like mangled demon corpses made out of tar, they are that which lives for discord, and causing it too. It's a surprise that Odd has managed to live this long with them as enemies.

Trivia: -In Gaelic mythology, the Bodach, or "Old Man" in Irish, is a trickster being associated with demons. It's worse in Scottish interpretations, in which it kidnaps naughty children, and is sometimes even an omen of death.

-In a rather sad case of life imitating art, the original novel this film was made from involved a boy Odd knew that got killed by a car smashing who came up with the Bodachs' name. It is almost exactly how Odd's actor, Anton Yelchin, died three years later.
